In Hong Kong, taxation is of territorial basis. According to the Inland Revenue Ordinance of the Hong Kong law, profits tax shall be charged for each year of assessment on every person carrying on a trade, profession or business in Hong Kong in respect of his assessable profits arising in or derived from Hong Kong for that year from such trade, profession or business as ascertained in accordance with this Part. There are 4 major categories of taxes in Hong Kong, they are Profit Tax, Salaries Tax, Property Tax and Stamp Duty.
